This is a unique opportunity to delve into one of the world’s most beneficial forms of Yoga. A seven week Iyengar yoga course that is both relaxing and enlivening. Our style is Iyengar Yoga, named after the late, ingenious BKS Iyengar (1918 - 2014) who invented props so the asanas could be modified to suit the individual. Breath, mind and body alignment are the central focus. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
A more fluid practice. This is a seven week course focusing on the deep rhythm of the breath, encouraging the body to be synchronised with the breath. The asanas are not held as long as Iyengar yoga and do not normally utilise props. However, I have mastered the art of teaching an uninterrupted flow whilst encouraging the student to use a block or two when required. The end result is always a more lengthened spine so it makes sense. A course in Vinyasa yoga is essential as we build upon layer and technique over its duration. Saturday morning’s only.
On the matA unique seven week course differing from most other Pilates courses. It encompasses my personal creation of ‘Pulse Pilates’ using resistance tubes, Yoga wheels and Pilates gliders. It's a well liked class and you do receive a good, strong workout. Just the other day a new student commented on how the session was surprisingly on par with her regular Pilates Reformer class. Strength and flexibility are worked equally and dynamically in this jam packed one hour session. I guarantee you will walk away feeling lovely and free in the shoulders (a major reason for students return) and your whole body worked to the core with lots of spinal articulation. If you take your swimming seriously and you have tight or weak shoulders, this is a perfect class for you. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Yoga & Pilates fusionPlus size Ball class is aimed at those who are overweight and unconditioned. A small class with a maximum of nine. My aim here is to establish a comfortable environment for plus size women wanting a uniquely strong, yet manageable form of exercise. Most people doing this course are pleasantly surprised by what they can achieve. Fantastic for back problems and a very solid workout. Guaranteed to sleep well as well. Wednesday evenings.
Excellent pregnancy workoutThis is a ten week course constructed in such a way you can commence anytime. A prenatal yoga course is simply the best thing you can do during pregnancy, reducing some of the difficult changes that occur through each trimester. Asana (postures), Pranayama (breathing practices) and Yoga Nidra (conscious relaxation) are the focus of the class. Pelvic floor muscles are given attention in detail. I wholeheartedly support the philosophy of hypnobirthing where the premise of a calm birth is ‘belief and understanding’ of one's body. Breathing is the key. I have had several ladies tell me how grateful they were for the breathing techniques, including those having had caesareans. For natural births it is the one common thread of feedback. Yoga therapy is incorporated for anyone experiencing common ailments such as sore backs; swollen joints; shortness of breath; sciatica; cramping and the contraindications associated with the hormone ‘relaxin’. Now incorporating Aqua Yoga for the warmer climates and smaller classes. Wednesday evenings.

One on one sessionsIdeal for those who are not feeling the confidence to join a class or concerned about a bulged or slipped disc. Commonly those with chronic or acute injuries, particularly shoulder injuries (due to their innate complexity); back injuries; anyone experiencing a long recovery mode; and those who wish to join the intermediate Bodyball class - demonstrating a level of proficiency is a prerequisite for Monday night ball class. Private lessons are available Monday to Saturday.
